Certificate in Education (ALTP)
Diploma in Teaching Early Childhood Education
(i) Have complete F6, or equivalent, with grade 5 in English and Maths; or successfully completed USP preliminary program with a minimum of a B grade in English, and an aggregate GPA of 2.5 and above; or
(ii) Have completed F7 or equivalent, or USP Foundation or equivalent with a B grade in English and an overall GPA not more than 20 in the SPBEAEntering as an in-service candidate
(i) Must hold a Certificate in teaching (ECE) from SICHE or a recognized institution, and has a minimum teaching experience of 2 years or more; plus
(ii) One work reference and one character reference from the principal, career teacher, or a person in authority.
Diploma in Teaching Primary
(i) Have complete F6, or equivalent, with grade 4 in English and subject of choice; or have successfully completed USP preliminary program with B Grade in English and an overall minimum GPA of 2.5 and above; or
(ii) Have completed and passed Foundation Studies or Equivalent; or F7 or Equivalent with a minimum B grade in English and Maths, and an aggregate GPA of 2.5 and above;
Entering as an in-service candidate(i) Must hold a Certificate in teaching (primary) from SICHE or a recognized institution (based on SIQF or equivalent), and has a minimum teaching experience of 2 years or more; plus
Bachelor of Teaching Primary
(i) Have completed and passed Foundation Studies or Equivalent; or F7 or Equivalent with a minimum C grade in English and Maths, and an aggregate GPA of 2 and above
Entering as an in-service candidate(i) Holds a Diploma in Teaching (Primary) from SICHE or any recognized tertiary institution, with a minimum of 2 or more years of teaching experience in any primary school in the country or the region;
Diploma in Teaching Secondary
(i) Have complete F6, or equivalent, with grade 4 in English and pass grades in two teaching subjects of choice
(ii) Have completed F7 or equivalent, or USP Foundation or equivalent with a pass in English and pass grades in two teaching subjects of choice.
Bachelor of Teaching Secondary
(i) Have completed and passed Foundation Studies or Equivalent or F7 or Equivalent with a minimum C grade in English and Maths, and an aggregate GPA of 2 and above;
Entering as an in-service candidate
(ii) Holds a Diploma in Teaching (Secondary) from SICHE or any recognized tertiary institution with a minimum of 2 or more years of teaching experience in any secondary school in the country or the region; plus
(iii) One work reference and one character reference from an immediate supervisor or senior officer from the education authority; or a person in authority.
Graduate Diploma in Education
(i) Candidate must hold a university bachelor’s degree and above or equivalent in one or more teaching subjects (Mathematics, Science [Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer science], Theology, English, Social studies, History, Geography, Economics, Accounting, Agriculture, Physical Education, Health Studies and Creative Arts).
Postgraduate Diploma of Educational Leadership and Change
i) Completion of a Bachelor’s degree programme in the subject with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or completion of a Post-Graduate Certificate or Post-Graduate Diploma Programmes in the subject with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.
ii) Applicants may also be admitted to the Programme who may not meet the requirement given above, but who can demonstrate their ability to succeed in the programme at this level based on maturity, work experience, or prior learning. The Dean may place any relevant specific requirement for such a student to progress or require such an applicant to sit for any specific or general examination as a prerequisite for any such enrollment or may restrict enrollment only to certain prescribed units that must be passed to progress further.
Master of Educational Leadership and Change
i) Completion of a Bachelor’s degree programme in the subject with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or completion of a Post-Graduate Certificate or Post-Graduate Diploma Programmes in the subject with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.
ii) Applicants may also be admitted to the Programme who may not meet the requirement given above, but who can demonstrate their ability to succeed in the programme at this level based on maturity, work experience, or prior learning. The Dean may place any relevant specific requirement for such a student to progress or require such an applicant to sit for any specific or general examination as a prerequisite for any such enrollment or may restrict enrollment only to certain prescribed units that must be passed to progress further.
