Department of BICS

With the newly establishment of the book shop, BICS aims to provide cheap and affordable school stationery and more to students at their fingertips to assist them with their assignments and other school tasks saving them both time and money from moving around the Honiara City avoiding long traffic jams.

The bookshop is located at SINU Panatina Campus and opens 8:00am to 4:30pm Mondays to Fridays. The bookshop is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

The SINU Press and printing section focuses on providing efficient and cost-effective printing service to enable the Solomon Islands National University to provide affordable Course Materials to all its Students.

It also aims at providing affordable printing service to staff, Schools, Faculties, Departments and the University. This section normally opens at 8am to 4:30 pm Mondays to Fridays and is located at SINU Panatina Campus.

The Solomon Islands National University Student Halls of Residence provides comfortable accommodation services to students of SINU during semesters and also caters for external users during semester breaks.  Such activities that the SINU Student Halls of Residences have hosted are the 2018 6th MACFEST, 2018 and  2019 SIFF U19 & U16 National Soccer Tournament.

There are Five (5) hostels located at the Kukum Campus, two (2) of which are for Male Students and three (3) are for female students. Kukum Campus has available a total of 364 Beds. Ranadi Campus has only male facilities and has a total of 88 Beds. Panatina Campus has six (6) Hostels for Females and five (5) Hostels for Males. Panatina Campus has available a total of 420 Beds.

There is a range of activities available to students who live on Campus such as Sporting Activities, Combined Fellowships, Battle Field Tours, Water Fall Tours etc. We try to have something different every year.

The SINU clinic is located at Panatina campus and is open to students who need medical attention from 8am-4:30 pm. It is operated by two nurses who are scheduled on shift basis. After normal working hours both nurses will attend only urgent medical cases from students.

As part of looking after the wellbeing of students, BICS also has a sporting department which coordinates sporting events for students accommodated on campus.

BICS also has a chaplain who is responsible for coordinating and liaising with student religious leaders in organizing fellowship programs for students.

The dining facility offers three (3) meals a day to boarding students at a rate of $100. Day students wishing to have lunch on campus can access our dining facility at a flat rate of $50 per lunch. All students wishing to access the dining facility must register their details at the Kukum BICS admin office.

The green haus cafes are located at the 3 SINU campuses and offers a much wider range of food menu to students according to their preference compared to the dishes served inside the dining facility. The green haus offers menus such as the famous ‘fish& chips’ dish, fruit salads, sandwiches and drinks.
