Unit Title: Introduction to investigative biology

Prerequisite: A pass in Year 11 examination or equivalent

Unit BIO302 introduces students to different biological forms and functions in both animals and plants. This includes the exchange of internal and external environment, nutrition and digestion, gas exchange, circulation, and human reproduction. Students will also study the reproduction of plants, both non-flowing and flowing plants, the uptake and transport of plant nutrients, and soil. The course links different biological forms and functions to the outside environment. As our environment continues to be threatened by various forces, most of which are caused by humans need to understand the facts about the environment is inevitable. Biosphere, organisms’ behavioural and adaptations to the environment are studied with population, community structure, and its dynamics.
